(b. 1983)

I work with a wide range of time-based media and hybrid technologies to explore tensions between concept and material, and to select the processes and rhythms that amplify the ideas underpinning each of my projects. This method of working is paired with an ongoing interest in how the past inhabits the present. In this respect, the prefix 're' is in constant use: return, revenant, remediate, and reinvent all reoccur in the writings that describe my various projects.  This anachronistic approach has led me to research photography’s uncanny relationship with the past, and to explore existing materials, images, and technologies in search of new meanings. By means of recuperating and reframing forgotten and neglected histories I am interested in recording and reanimating the appearances and disappearances inherent to the passage of time.
